EXCESSIVE SWEATING
Excessive Sweating, or Hyperhydrosis (hyperhidrosis) is a condition where sufferers complain of excessively sweaty feet, sweaty hands, sweaty palms, and sweaty armpits.
No one is sure of the causes of excessive sweating, however, most patients who complain to us of excess sweating, mention anxiety or stress as the factor that causes excessive sweating, and this leads to you sweating more as your worry starts to grow, thereby making it a vicious cycle. The end result can often be embarrassing, and the very thought kick starts the cycle of sweaty feet, sweaty hands, sweaty palms, or sweaty armpits, or in some cases all four areas.
SIMPLE AND EFFECTIVE TREATMENT
There is a simple and relatively painless hyperhydrosis (hyperhidrosis) treatment available, using Botulinum Toxin or Botox ®. By injecting the botulinum toxin just under the surface of the skin, we can paralyse your sweat glands that cause you excessive sweating. By doing this, we make the sweat glands inactive, and we can stop the vicious cycle.
STOP THE PROBLEM IN IT'S TRACKS
One common question we are asked is; if stress and anxiety causes excessive sweating, will I sweat more from other areas if you stop my sweaty hands, sweaty feet, sweaty armpits? The simple answer is that you have 2 types of sweat gland, and the sweat gland we stop excessive sweating from will not interfere with your normal level of sweating, which you require to cool you down. And, as the excess sweating is caused by a different type of sweat gland, there is no chance of it starting in another part of your body after treatment.
LASTING RESULTS
Results will typically last you 2-3 months, and during that period the excess sweating is greatly reduced, and in some cases stops altogether.
